The Gooderstone Extension Railway

Gooderstone never had a railway station, but a group of optimistic citizens did get as far as obtaining an Act of Parliament for an extension of the Downham and Stoke Ferry Railway – called the Gooderstone Extension Railway, which would have been a second GER!

As an excuse for a model railway layout, this concept has been on my mind at various times over the past four decades, and in 2025 I finally got around to making a start on it. There are some items of rolling stock which will need building for it (specifically the two-coach set of 6-wheel coaches built for the Stoke Branch – I drew these up back in December 1987!) but mostly I can run stock available for use on East Lynn. Plus, of course, anything else that takes my fancy.

These pages chronicle my progress in building an “achievable layout” in S scale.
